Note: CSW’s Hackathon is an interview unlike any other! We do not look at your marks or your lack of prior CTF experience. All we want to know is: can you hack?

2. How does CSW’s Hackathon work?

Interested students, who register for the event, will need to participate in a two-round challenge. Those who pass the qualifying round will move on to the final hackathon round, for which they will have 24-hours to win! The winners will be announced on September 20, 2021.

3. Do I need a team?

No. This is an individual challenge.

4. How do I register?

To participate, you will need to fill out the registration form with all the necessary details. Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email from CSW.

5. Should I pay to register?

No. There is no registration fee. The only thing you need to spend is your time.

6. What happens after I register?

After registration, students will have to participate in the qualifying round. CSW will shortlist the finalists who will then compete to capture the flag in a 24-hour challenge. Winners will receive cash prizes and job offers.

7. How will I receive the reward?

The participant who completes all the tasks within the deadline will receive the reward amount in full, either through an online transfer or a cheque. In case a participant solves only one part of the task successfully and there is no equivalent competitor, the participant will receive half of the reward amount.

Note: Irrespective of the cash award, participants who clear the qualifier round will receive certificates from CSW.

8. What is the procedure to get recruited by CSW?

The final round of the hackathon will have three challenges; a CTF task, a coding task, and a small writing test (200 words on a topic given by CSW). Participants are expected to submit a report on the tasks they performed to complete the challenge.

The winners and runners-up of the hackathon will automatically stand a chance to intern/work with CSW.

Note: As per CSW’s HR policy the participants will be interviewed by the panel. Because of the pandemic, all rounds of interviews will either be telephonic or conducted over a Zoom call.

9. What does CSW expect from its Hackathon candidates?

Task completion within the stipulated deadline
Python-coding knowledge
Well-presented report on task performed
Good communication skills
Proactive and positive attitude

10. What happens if I do not complete the task within the deadline?

The Google form that accepts the responses or reports will be inaccessible after the deadline, thereby disqualifying the candidate.

11. Can I choose to take the cash prize but decline the job offer?

If you win the first or the second place but prefer to decline CSW’s offer of internship/employment, you can choose to take a quarter of the cash prize amount.

12. What equipment do I need to participate in this Hackathon?

All you need is a personal computer or laptop with a high-speed internet connection.
